You Always Look Your Best (Here in My Arms) : ウィキペディア英語版 | You Always Look Your Best (Here in My Arms)
"You Always look Your Best (Here in My Arms)" is a love song by American country singer George Jones. It was composed by Curly Putman, Mike Kosser, and Steve Pippin. Epic Records released it as a single as a single in 1976 and it bombed, stalling at #37 before disappearing without a trace. This may have been partly due to the burgeoning outlaw country movement, which featured artists like Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, David Allan Coe, and a host of other singers who had incorporated a rock edge into the honky tonk sound that Jones had helped pioneer early in his career. "You Look Your Best," a gentle, syrupy love song, was completely out of step with the outlaw movement, which was beginning to dominate country radio. As ''The Telegraph'' noted in 2013, "Ignoring the trend during the 1970s for a leaner, rawer sound, and for widening country music’s appeal by incorporating rock and blues influences, Jones maintained his affection for the traditional country ballad, complete with lush string arrangements and backing singers." Ironically, Jones, who was beginning to be viewed as part of the "old guard" in country music, was as big an outlaw as anyone at the time, spiraling out of control in an alcohol and drug haze. In his 1996 autobiography ''I Lived To Tell It All'', Jones admitted that at the time he "constantly feared that my career, like my three marriages, was over. I had nothing left but my name, and my name was associated with missing personal appearances and not paying my debts." ==Chart performance==
